Bruce's Yams
Bruce's Yams are actually sweet potatoes marinaded in a sweet syrup. Yams or sweet potatoes as most know them as are a common starch for Thanksgiving meals in New Orleans. Most common dishes include adding marshmallows and pecans on top of the yams and baking it in the oven until the marshmallows are just right. In 1928, Bruce Foods was founded in New Iberia, LA where it is still headquartered today.
